Special Adviser to Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr Crusoe Osagie, has hailed the Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA) for its courage in setting the records straight with regard to the falsehood published by candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the media.
The governor’s aide who spoke on Monday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, advised “other groups whose names have been used by the APC to conjure endorsements that were never given, in the party’s desperate bid to market and rebrand their gubernatorial candidate who is heavily burdened with credibility crisis, to speak up.
“By challenging APC’s fabricated endorsement, BENCCIMA has defended its rule book and its set objectives, and has sent a strong message to identity thieves like the APC, that you cannot fool the people all the time.”
He, however, noted that “APC only tendered the apology because BENCCIMA took the party up,” adding that “there are several other groups, whose corporate identities and names, have been used by the APC, without permission and without any endorsement, to market their hard-to-sell gubernatorial candidate.”
Osagie advised consumers of news on various media platforms to be distrustful of endorsement stories emanating from the campaign office of the APC, always, as several individuals and groups have come out in recent times to accuse the APC of similar irresponsible action.
