Manchester United skipper Nemanja Matic may miss their next league campaign against Arsenal.
The Serbian suffered a muscle problem in their last clash against Watford on Tuesday night. His condition is currently being assessed by the club’s medical staff. It was reported that the 29-year-old will undergo intensive treatment at the club’s Carrington training complex.
He has now till tomorrow for a positive report before the club leaves for London regards Saturday’s clash. It is understood that Mourinho is not confident if Matic will be fit to face the Gunners at the Emirate.
The manager is already without Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick, both players injured. If Matic losses his battle to be fit, Mourinho is expected to recall Ander Herrera. So far this season Herrera has started 3 games from the bench.
In other news, United star Jesse Lingard insists they are up to the challenge of overhauling Manchester City in the race to be champions.
